World Vision Jerusalem – West Bank – Gaza
World Vision is about the well-being of vulnerable children regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion, or gender. For 46 years, we have worked to improve the lives of children in this part of the world. Our goal is to nurture them, improve their resilience, and bring hope. We work through development, relief and advocacy so vulnerable children are protected in families and communities, and so they develop the skills they need for healthy lives.
In FY21, we reached 282,507 children through relief and development programming and over one million children through advocacy programmes. 74% of the children in our current programmes are the most vulnerable in terms of poverty and fragility. In the West Bank, only 62% of children 0-3 years of age are on track in all domains, but after mothers participate in our Go Baby Go programme, 86% are. When pre-school children started in our Learning Roots programme, only 37.2% were on track in all domains, yet at the end, 71% are. When caregivers begin our Positive Discipline workshops, 93% believed physical punishment is necessary to bring up a child, yet after, this number decreases to 67%. We support over 400 schools. We have equipped 22 schools with 173 solar panels. We reached over 1.2 million with COVID-19 prevention awareness.
